Collaboration integrates Carbon Minds’ entire database into Makersite’s data foundation for improved design, sourcing, and reporting

Makersite and Carbon Minds forge strategic partnership

STUTTGART, Germany, July 2, 2024 — Makersite, an AI-enabled product lifecycle intelligence software renowned for its comprehensive approach to managing sustainability, cost and compliance, today announced its partnership with Carbon Minds, the provider of the largest and most regionalized product carbon footprint (PCF) and life cycle assessment (LCA) database for chemicals and plastics. This collaboration will integrate Carbon Minds’ entire database into Makersite’s data foundation for improved design, sourcing, and reporting.

Governments and companies worldwide are pledging to achieve net-zero emissions, but chemicals and plastics manufacturers often struggle to identify and eliminate the use of harmful materials and processes. With the integration of Carbon Minds’ PCF and LCA database for chemicals and plastics, cm.chemicals, Makersite customers can ensure every product in their portfolio is made more sustainably and in line with regulations.

Carbon Minds provides the most comprehensive data set for all of a company’s chemical raw materials. Its platform encompasses over 1,300 chemicals and plastics across more than 200 countries and custom modeling and intelligent proxy data help to address any specialized chemicals companies may require.

Makersite is actively enabling companies to manage product sustainability, cost, and compliance. From day one of this partnership, all Makersite customers will benefit from Carbon Minds’ data without additional fees.

“By partnering with Carbon Minds, we’re providing our customers with even more extensive coverage of their full chemical value chain,” said Neil D’Souza, CEO and founder of Makersite. “Spanning from resource extraction to the finished chemical and plastic products, Makersite customers will have access to even more granular data to make faster product design and sourcing decisions.”

“Through our partnership with Makersite we’re enabling manufacturers to accurately track emissions from chemicals and plastics more easily, and to make more informed, sustainable choices during the design phase,” said Arne Kätelhön, Managing Director of Carbon Minds. “This collaboration will aid manufacturers in leading the sustainability transition within chemical value chains at scale.”
